Young People
Young People
Young people are amazing.
They are on the start of their life journey with so many opportunities ahead of them.
But being young person can be tough.
They have the stress and anxiety of moving through school, college, uni and employment, sometimes feeling the education system does not meet their needs.
There is peer pressure and social situations to navigate, as well as expectations from teachers, friends, family and social media.
Some of the signs you may recognise either in yourself or a parent/carer of a young person, can be:
Lack of motivation
Depression and/or anxiety
Not knowing how to accept any learning difficulty or diagnosis, and how to manage this
Withdrawn and not wanting to engage in social activities or education
Not being able to see the wood from the trees
Lack of self esteem
Increase of risk taking behaviour
The feeling that no-one understands them
Coaching can help support this.
I am highly experienced in working with young people and understand the difficulties they face.
We will work together to build resilience, increase motivation and above all, to be happy.
Being a parent / carer can also be a challenge, wanting the best for your young person and seeing them grow, but wanting to protect them at the same time.
The coaching sessions can be with the young person and the parent/carer or individually.
They will be held via Microsoft Teams, telephone or face to face, whichever is more comfortable. Some young people find it easier to talk when not looking at someone, so they prefer their sessions via phone.
One question I hear is "Is Life Coaching for young people?".
The answer is, yes.
Young people have an amazing ability to embrace and accept change.
Building a power bank of strategies and tools to use, is a solid foundation for their exciting future.
